Computer glitch delays Qantas flights

I thought I should find a place to log interesting software failures. So here is the first one, which hit the news last night and this morning.

"Computer glitch delays Qantas flights"

Amadeus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amadeus_CRS), a reservation system, failed for multiple airlines, and Qantas reportedly had to switch to manual processes. This failure was reported to have affected many other airlines internationally.

  1. The interesting thing about this is that Amadeus is failing again for Qantas today. I would be livid if it was me. I wrote about it here: http://wp.me/p98zF-5E
